Job Title: Patch Caretaker
Location: Medway, ME1
Salary: £24,500
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. You may be required to work evenings and bank holidays as needed.
About The Role
We are seeking a Patch Caretaker to join our Maintenance and Estates team. The role involves maintaining our properties to a high standard through cleaning and handyperson duties. You will provide a customer-focused service to stakeholders and ensure properties are safe and well-maintained, primarily around the Medway area. Key duties include:
* Ensuring properties meet health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Ensuring compliance with housing, health and safety policies and legislation.
* Cleaning, end-of-tenancy cleans, preparing rooms for new tenants, basic repairs, maintenance, and gardening.
* Collaborating with services, managers, colleagues, residents, and participants to identify risks or faults and resolving them promptly.
* Accompanying internal and external providers to ensure high standards of maintenance within reasonable timeframes.
* Performing minor repairs such as plastering, lubricating locks, replacing plugs and chains, fixing toilet seats, unblocking sinks, replacing bathroom fixtures, changing light bulbs, servicing white goods, bleeding radiators, and installing shelves and rails.
About You
We're looking for someone passionate about our organization and general caretaking responsibilities. You should be capable of completing maintenance, cleaning, and repairs within the designated area. An understanding of the needs of residents and participant groups, and the ability to embody our values of Inclusion, Transparency, Ambition, and Empowerment, are essential. The ideal candidate will have:
* Relevant experience in a similar role involving housekeeping, cleaning, or handyperson duties.
* Proficiency with IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft Office and other software.
* Flexibility to work across various sites within Social Interest Group.
* An understanding of the social and housing needs of individuals with complex needs.
* Ability to create an inclusive, psychologically informed environment through estate services.
* Willingness to stay updated with industry standards and undertake necessary training.
