Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We’re looking for a talented Transport Coordinator to join us on a permanent basis at our site in Scunthorpe.
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £28,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
* Be the primary contact point for customers and haulier partners
* Ensure safety, service, and savings targets are adhered to
* Work with a team ethos to ensure excellent and valued service is provided to all customers
* Proactively prevent accidents and reduce hazards by following Company Policy, Health & Safety Standards, and standards of housekeeping
* Create cost-effective haulage plans aligned with customer expectations and Service Level Agreements
* React and adapt positively to the demands of customers in a dynamic live environment
* Maintain consistent communication regarding planning changes and service delivery with customers and suppliers
* Possess commercial awareness to ensure ad hoc deliveries are effectively agreed and recorded
* Collaborate with the Finance Team to resolve customer and haulier issues
* Be a team player with a flexible approach to working hours, demonstrating commitment to fluctuating business demands
* Use transport planning systems effectively, adopting best practices and maintaining good housekeeping
What you need to succeed at XPO:
* Understanding of transport planning and industry standards
* Excellent communication skills for regular stakeholder interaction
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
* Ability to meet deadlines efficiently and effectively
* Experience working in a cost-sensitive environment
* Transport planning experience in a 3PL environment is desirable
* Good knowledge of UK Geography
* Experience using transport planning software
