Cardiffs Disabled Facilities Service provides essential financial support to help elderly, vulnerable, and disabled residents live safely and independently in their homes. This includes funding for adaptations, repairs, and maintenance across all housing tenures.


About the job

The administrative team provides support and assistance to the technical staff delivering the service. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Administrator to join our team and support the smooth running of the Disabled Facilities Service.

As a Disabled Adaptations & Loans Officer, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

* Processing purchase orders, invoices, and external bills.
* Supporting customers with advice and guidance.
* Assisting Project Officers and liaising with internal teams and external contractors.
* Ensuring requests from Occupational Therapists are compliant with the service guidance.
* Managing property charges and handling client payments.
* Producing and providing management information reports.


What We Are Looking For From You

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

* Excellent customer care and communication.
* Strong IT proficiency, in particular the use of databases.
* High attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills.
* Confidence in handling telephone enquiries and numerical data.
* Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.

The position involves a wide, varied and often changing range of tasks, so you would need to use your initiative, be able to work under pressure in a busy environment, and be committed to provide the best service possible to customers and colleagues.

Experience/knowledge of SAP is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

You would be expected to produce reports, take minutes and work as part of a team. You’ll be expected to handle enquiries from the public, clinical professionals (e.g. Occupational Therapists), and technical officers, including signposting and making referrals to other services.

The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.

This role is for 37 hours a week and is suitable for post share.

This role is mainly remote working with attendance in the office as and when required.
