Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative and highly skilled Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at this exciting stage of our growth journey. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in researching, designing, and developing innovative new products while driving continuous improvement across existing lines. Key Responsibilities:
● Design, develop, and test new products for our civil engineering product lines, including access covers, gully gratings, and drainage solutions.
● Utilise Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed blueprints, 3D models, and technical drawings.
● Conduct analysis and simulations to ensure designs meet or exceed safety, durability, and performance standards.
● Collaborate with the manufacturing, production, and quality control teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and efficient to produce.
● Manage the full product life cycle, from initial concept and prototyping to final production and implementation.
● Analyse existing products and processes, identifying and implementing design improvements to enhance quality, performance, and efficiency.
● Prepare and present design reports, prototypes, and technical specifications to internal teams and clients.
● Keep abreast of industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain our market-leading position.
● Support project needs with occasional domestic and international travel (all expenses covered by the business).
Profred Qualifications & Skills:
● 3- 5 years of experience
● Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
● Proven experience as a Design Engineer or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or civil engineering context.
● Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
● Strong understanding of engineering and design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes (e.g., casting, fabrication).
● Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to design.
● Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
● High attention to detail and accuracy.
● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
