Launched in 1824, HMS Unicorn is the third oldest ship in the world still afloat and Scotland’s only surviving wooden warship. Now an Accredited Museum in Dundee’s City Quay, visitors can explore four decks that offer a unique glimpse into 19th century naval life.

Role Description
This is a variable hour contract, fixed term until 31st October 2026 (with a view to extend) on-site role in Dundee for a Visitor Experience Assistant. The role involves delivering an exceptional experience to all visitors through customer service, providing information about the organisation's history, and ensuring an engaging and accessible environment. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, managing ticket sales, supporting events, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, and addressing visitor inquiries promptly. The Visitor Experience Assistant will also collaborate with team members to enhance overall visitor satisfaction and ensure operations run smoothly.

* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to engage with visitors effectively.
* Excellent verbal communication abilities, as well as comfort speaking to diverse groups of people.
* Organizational skills to manage ticketing, reservations, and daily operational tasks efficiently.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contributing to collective problem-solving and a positive work atmosphere.
* A passion for cultural heritage, history, or public policy, with the ability to share this enthusiasm professionally.
* Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive approach to addressing visitor and operational needs.
* Prior experience in visitor services, hospitality, or a similar field is beneficial but not essentail
