We are seeking to recruit an experienced Lead Art Psychotherapist to work in our acute psychology service in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

Main duties of the job
The Lead Art Psychotherapist will be a high-level clinician, providing Specialist Arts Psychotherapy assessments and treatment to adults with a range of psychological and emotional disorders in mental health inpatient unscheduled care services, provide expertise in all aspects of Arts Psychotherapy to patients, carers and significant others, contribute to the provision of the Psychological Therapy Services within adult mental health inpatient unscheduled care services, work as part of the multidisciplinary team carrying a caseload of patients, receive regular supervision in line with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) policies, manage own caseload, ensure high standards of care are maintained, provide supervision and consultancy to other mental health professionals and be involved in the development of Psychological Therapy provision within the locality, provide supervision for Art Psychotherapy trainees on placement from the University of South Wales and maintain placement relationships with the university.
Job responsibilities
The post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. Welsh language speaking and listening skills at Level 3 or above are desirable but not essential.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Master's Level training and education in Art Psychotherapy
* HCPC Registration as Art Psychotherapist
* Knowledge of a range of Art Psychotherapy evidence based interventions
* Awareness of research processes and research governance
* Awareness of other therapeutic approaches and applications
* Awareness of Safeguarding Principles; awareness of Data Protection legislation and participant confidentiality issues
* Knowledge of NICE Guidelines and NHS Government strategies
* Membership of the British Association of Art Therapists
* Additional training in alternative therapeutic approaches e.g. DBT/ACT/CBT
* Other qualifications within the field of psychology
Experience
* Experience of working with adults in a mental health setting
* Experience of group facilitation
* Experience of managing competing demands within time constraints
* Experience of undertaking risk assessments
* Experience of taking part in research projects with service users and staff
* Experience of completing safeguarding processes within clinical work
Aptitude and Abilities
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information
* Organisational and time management skills
* Ability to negotiate with and influence staff who are not managed within the team
* Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
* Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
* Ability to facilitate reflective practice to wider multi-disciplinary team colleagues
