## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role**Mō te tūnga | About the role**This is a rare opportunity for an experienced public programmes specialist to plan, design and deliver high impact programmes at a museum of national significance.With more than 220,000+ visitors each year, the museum operates a busy calendar ranging from daily tours and regular scheduled events to birthday parties, school holiday programmes and special one-off events. This role also ensures visitors receive consistently high standards in visitor experience. Understanding what motivates our current visitors and what we need to do to attract new fans is an important function of this position.As the Public Programmes Officer, a typical day for you would include:* Designing and overseeing the public engagement activities, tours, programmes, and special events* Ensuring accurate and helpful information regarding programmes, activities, and events is disseminated to Visitor Experience Team and other staff as required* Compiling analysis of visitor experience data that contributes to continuing excellence and improvement.* Managing a team of 2 staff and coordinating the volunteer guide programme (45 volunteers)This role requires both strategic leadership and practical delivery, with a strong emphasis on relationship building and collaboration with the wider museum team.**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience**Experience in a hands-on or a frontline role in museums, art galleries, libraries or a visitor related industry.
