Role Overview

As a full-time Garden Centre Assistant (Trolleys & Car Park), you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service while keeping our car park and outdoor areas safe, clean, and welcoming. You'll help customers, support stock management, and ensure the smooth running of the garden centre, making every visit a positive experience.

This is an active, hands-on role where no two days are the same, perfect for someone who enjoys variety, being outdoors, and working as part of a friendly, motivated team.

Key Responsibilities

Trolley and Car Park Duties

* Collect and replenish trolleys and baskets across the store.
* Assist customers from tills to their cars with larger or heavier purchases.
* Maintain the car park's cleanliness and appearance, including litter picking and bin emptying.
* Ensure the car park meets company standards and remains visually appealing.
* Transport customer orders to the delivery bay and return unsold items to sales areas.

General Garden Centre Duties

* Provide exceptional customer service with a friendly, approachable manner.
* Respond promptly and effectively to customer queries and complaints.
* Handle goods carefully to minimise breakages and packaging costs.
* Promote Gordale's loyalty card and support linked sales.
* Receive deliveries, check stock accuracy, and complete relevant documentation.
* Ensure stock is correctly priced, attractively displayed, and refreshed regularly.
* Maintain clean, tidy, and safe work areas for customers and colleagues.
* Complete daily checklists and report any issues to management.
* Be vigilant for shoplifting and report concerns promptly.
* Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and health & safety guidelines.

* Physically fit and comfortable handling trolleys and lifting heavier items.
* Flexible and willing to support different areas of the business as needed.
