Job summary
The North Yorkshire and York Perinatal Mental Health Team are looking to appoint a band 8b Principal Applied Psychologist to work as part of our multi-disciplinary team on a 12 month fixed term/secondment basis covering maternity leave.
The perinatal team supports women and birthing people from conception up to 12 months post natal. The team covers a large geographical area; based within the Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire cell, with leadership roles extending to the wider York and North Yorkshire Team. Independent travel is essential.
Applicants must have postgraduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS and be registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC. Significant experience in delivering and supervising evidence-based psychological interventions for SMHP is essential.
Main duties
Provide direct clinical work, promote psychological thinking across the team, develop formulations, offer supervision, support staff wellbeing, and deliver training in psychological theories and their application.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience working with severe mental health problems and competencies in evidence-based psychological therapies for SMHP. They will contribute to clinical leadership, undertake psychological assessments, deliver therapies, supervise clinicians, and support service development and professional leadership.
