Position Summary
* Assisting team of skilled labourer arborist in tree maintenance/tree care with tree pruning, minor tree removals, tree stumping, traffic control and job site cleanliness
* Assist forestry technical team in tree stake removals, re-establishing mulch beds on newly planted trees and minor field tree data collection
* Assist in the planning of new tree planting programs and resident communications
* Other duties as assigned
* Shift hours of operation are between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm, (Monday to Friday)
* Must be available to start full-time work as of May 4, 2026, varied shifts including evenings and weekends
Qualifications, Competencies
* MUST BE ENROLLED IN AND RETURNING TO FULL-TIME POST SECONDARY STUDIES IN FALL OF 2026 – Verification will be required
* Preference will be given to those enrolled in arboriculture, forestry, urban forestry or related field
* Knowledge and experience in tree pruning and removal standards and proper techniques
* Knowledge and experience using forestry maintenance equipment: chippers and stumpers
* Knowledge and experience in general Arboriculture principles and practices
* Knowledge of tree species, diseases and insect control
* Must have a valid Class ‘G’ driver’s licence
* Must demonstrate corporate values of Belonging, Collaboration, Accountability, and Innovation
Skills, Abilities, Work Demands
* Ability to work alone or in a team environment
* Proven customer service skills
* Proof of immunity to Tetanus and Hepatitis B may be required prior to start date
* Ability to work outside in inclement weather conditions
* Must be able to follow instructions and complete daily work assignments
* Must provide and wear CSA approved protective footwear
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check at candidate’s own expense
