Our London based office is looking for a full-time Head of Production to own the operational infrastructure of production and support and manage our team and clients.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate head of production. Working closely with the Executive Producer and Managing Director, the production team and assistants.
This is a management position with full responsibility for production operations.
You will manage the production team and assistants, trouble shoot on projects, have a full overview of the jobs being produced and help grow and develop the production team. You will oversee scheduling and resource allocation, hold relationships with key clients, and ensure your team deliver every project on time, on budget, and to the standard our reputation demands.
You will work closely with the Managing Director and Executive Producer to shape how the company grows, improving workflow systems, and contributing to business development where relevant.
You must have excellent communication skills, good judgement and the ability to work effectively with employees and clients at all levels. The job requires a calm and professional person with strong organisational skills and the flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time position based at our office in Fitzrovia, London.
Key Responsibilities:
· Managing the production department - producers and production co-ordinators.
· Keeping track of billings, working closely with our accountants
· Familiarisation with our roster of editor’s work and director relationships
· Building and nurturing internal relationships
· Attending industry events as required
· Manage, mentor, and grow our team of producers and assistant editors including freelance talent sourcing, onboarding
· Oversee facility operations including suite allocation, system maintenance, asset management, and technical readiness in conjunction with our tech support team.
· Develop and implement production workflows that create consistency without compromising creative flexibility
· Manage Client Services team
Required Skills and Experience:
o Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a senior post producer and or experience as a Head of Production in post or offline.
o Background and experience working on TV commercials and music videos
o Deep knowledge of the offline editing process
o Training of junior staff and mentorship, growing the next generation
o Strong client management skills, able to manage expectations, hold difficult conversations, be tactful and sensitive as required.
o Technical knowledge around editing software and the post
o Working knowledge of scheduling and budgeting software Ceta and Asana
o Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
o Able to juggle multiple projects in a support role
o Personable, confident, and approachable
o A calm, decisive management style, someone who creates stability
o Enjoys working as part of a team
o An existing network in terms of freelance resourcing
o Comfortable working across time zones and in collaboration with our US office as well as our clients in Europe
