LOCATION: Manchester, Chester or Newport,

HOURS: 35 hours, full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity

Join our Consumer Lending COO, Supplier Management team, a centre of excellence dedicated to the effective management and governance of suppliers. We support our Transport teams in achieving their strategic goals, delivering value, and providing outstanding service to our customers by ensuring that governance, due diligence, sustainability, and risk management are prioritised throughout the entire supplier contract lifecycle.

As a Supplier Manager, you’ll own the management of suppliers in accordance with the Group’s external policy and governance framework. You’ll ensure that 3rd party suppliers under your remit are managed according to the Group’s Supply Chain Management framework, ensuring suppliers are continually operating in adherence to policy requirements and risk appetite.

What will I be doing?

Build, develop, and lead supplier relationships for all contracts, ensuring delivery and governance requirements, supporting the embedding of change and sustainable business practices, and reporting.

Supplier Oversight: Own the management of supplier relationships and contracts, ensuring alignment with our policy framework and business goals.

Risk Management: Ensure compliance with applicable Group policies, maintain an auditable trail, develop and maintain exit plans, and ensure appropriate business continuity arrangements are in place and tested periodically.

Data Analysis: Use a variety of performance data sources and information metrics to collaborate with all business partners and share contractual and performance information and analysis across contracts

Customer Focus: Analyse specified problems and issues to find the best solutions. Implement a culture of continuous improvement, appropriate to the nature of the goods and services being provided.

Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers to support effective supplier governance.

Contractual Negotiation Expertise: Support supplier contract negotiations as needed, whether during sourcing processes or throughout the contract lifecycle.

What you’ll need

Supplier Management Expertise: Confirmed experience in supplier management is critical.

Contract Management: Support all aspects of commercial and contractual management, including negotiating outcomes and coordinating supplier performance and service delivery.

Strategic and Critical Thinking: Understanding of the external supplier landscape, with the ability to apply this insight to drive innovation and improvement.

Governance and Relationship Management: Strong knowledge of supplier governance and compliance standards.

Partner Interaction: Ability to expertly interact with, and influence, partners/customers at varying levels of seniority.

Integrity and Growth Mindset: Excellent communication and advisory skills, with a dedication to continuous personal development and team working.
