About the Role
A well-regarded secondary school in Reading is seeking a passionate and engaging English Teacher to join their team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who enjoys inspiring young people and delivering high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
You will join a supportive English department, delivering planned lessons, maintaining positive behaviour, and helping students achieve meaningful progress during the remainder of the academic year.
Responsibilities
* Teach English to KS3 and KS4 following the school curriculum
* Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons
* Assess, monitor, and record student progress
* Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
* Collaborate with colleagues within the English department
* Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and learning standards
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Strong knowledge of the English curriculum
* Experience teaching in UK secondary schools (preferred)
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
