School Business Manager - To start ASAP - 3 DAYS PER WEEK 22.5H + 5 DAYS
We are seeking a candidate with a finance background for a part-time role of 22.5 hours per week, plus 5 additional days (including 4 training days and one day during the summer holidays). Attendance at some Governing Board Meetings is required, usually in person from 4pm-6pm or virtually from 5.30pm-7.30pm, three times per year. The preferred schedule is Wednesday to Friday, 7.45am-3.45pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Headteacher and Governors in managing the school’s budget, administration, and site operations.
* Leading financial planning and resource management, personnel matters, health and safety, recruitment, and managing key contracts such as maintenance, cleaning, and caretaking.
* Playing a strategic role in developing the school’s administrative systems and ensuring financial sustainability.
Candidate requirements:
* Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
* Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Proven leadership and project management abilities.
* Experience with FMS/Dynamics and My People (desirable but not essential).
* Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, governors, parents, external agencies, and the Local Authority, demonstrating warmth, diplomacy, and discretion.
