York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (YTHFM) is looking for an approachable and flexible Catering Services Operative to join our team in York. Experience is not necessary as full training will be provided, but a willingness to learn and develop your skills is essential.
Main duties of the job
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Delivering food to and serving patient food to the wards areas
* Using ward ovens to regenerate food
* Keeping the ward kitchen clean
* Monitoring food temperatures as part of HACCP
* Washing up and other general cleaning duties
* The role may also involve working in cold rooms to pick and seal patient food and working in pot wash.
The ideal candidate will have catering experience, be fantastic with customers, a good team player, and able to work independently. Full training will be provided. Enhanced rates apply for weekend and Bank Holiday shifts.

Person specification
Education & Qualifications
* Basic education including reading, writing, and numeracy
* Willingness to complete Food Hygiene Level 2 and other relevant qualifications
* BICSc Qualification/NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning/Catering or equivalent
Experience & Knowledge
* Ability to understand and follow instructions
* Proficiency in English
* Previous NHS experience preferred
* Experience in cleaning industry beneficial
* Ability to operate small and large equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, and floor machinery
