A driver is required for this role to support Jake with all his activities.
Responsibilities:
1. Support Jake in daily activities, both at home and in the community, ensuring his routine is followed.
2. Engage in Jake's hobbies such as walking, horse riding, and swimming.
3. Help him maintain his independence while ensuring he's safe and well-supported.
4. Ensure clear communication using tools like an iPad.
5. Be organized and ready to handle the practical aspects of his day-to-day life.
6. Assist with activities like walking, cooking, and outdoor pursuits.
Person Specification:
* Excellent communication and listening skills, including the ability to use an iPad for communication.
* Patience, resilience, and respect for his independence (Jake prefers to do things his way).
* Physically fit and energetic to keep up with outdoor activities.
* Well-organized, reliable, bubbly, kind, and understanding.
* Empathetic with a good sense of humor.
* Willing to engage in outdoor activities and cooking.
Practical Requirements:
* Must not be allergic to horses (due to Jake's love for horse riding).
* Able to walk long distances in various weather conditions.
* Valid driver's license (to support outings).
* Experience with autism or willingness to learn.
* Non-smoker (essential).
