To supportthe practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services, working as partof the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope ofpractice to our patient population.
The post will include pre booked routine patient appointments, administrative duties, stock checking and ordering, infection prevention and ad-hoc on the day urgent care support for the GP's and ANP.
The HCA will work closely with both clinical and non clinical members of the team.
Main duties of the job
To assist the GPs and practice nursing team in the service and delivery of the care management of the practice's patient population.
Responsible to: Senior practice nurses, practice manager and, ultimately, the GP Partners.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the healthcare assistant.
There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Undertake new patient and NHS health checks.
Support the practice nurse with health promotion programmes.
Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately.
Undertake compression bandaging, wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required.
Support the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics.
To ensure and carry out, in conjunction with the GP, all learning disability reviews for patients who require them.
Carry out BMI and blood pressure checks as directed.
Act as a chaperone as required.
Administer seasonal vaccinations and B12 injections.
Undertake Phlebotomy when needed.
To conduct annual stock checks, weekly/monthly stock ordering, ensure clinical rooms are adequately stocked with equipment and any ad-hoc tasks that may be requested.
To advise the Practice nurse lead/managers of potential problems or errors within a range of assigned tasks.
Attend and participate in any practice meetings, mandatory training and TARGET training when required.

Qualifications
* Qualified in Phlebotomy
* Qualified in Compression Dressing
* Qualified in Immunisation and vaccinations (competencies within role)
Experience
* General Practice Experience Essential - Applicants without this experience will not be considered
* Experience of working with Emis Web
* Experience of IPC
* Experience of working with the general public
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting
