The main purpose of our Day Maintenance Engineers is to execute the PPM plan, support Shift Engineers during breakdowns, and contribute to the department's continuous improvement strategy.
Key Responsibilities include
1. Observe and adhere to company health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times (essential).
2. Carry out mechanical (bias) and electrical repairs (based on capability) as required by engineering leadership or zonal specialists (essential).
3. Address problems with production machines likely to affect production/operator safety or machine safety (essential).
4. Replace machine parts if spares are not available (desirable).
5. Support the development of autonomous maintenance by upskilling operators in mechanical knowledge and know-how for efficient production.
6. Efficiently carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to company standards.
7. Update operation standards that define maintenance tasks for PPM operations and share knowledge via platforms.
8. Identify and implement continuous improvements for processes and machines within your section, including innovative machine setup/modifications.
9. Own a theme-based project as determined by the Maintenance Manager or leadership group.
10. Proactively communicate issues to the engineering team.
11. Minimize waste by adopting lean principles and maintain a clean work environment.
12. Maintain accurate records and reports in line with Ball's QMS requirements.
13. Adhere to ISO 9001/BRC regulatory standards.
14. Observe and maintain housekeeping standards.
15. Return tools, parts, and equipment to proper storage after use.
16. Keep tools, equipment, and work areas tidy and functional, raising concerns if standards are not met.
17. Operate and maintain production machines.
18. Support production by covering on lines when required.
19. Continuously seek to optimize production output and quality by responding to machine and process electrical and mechanical issues.
This is a day role working Monday to Friday.
