What's involved with this role: Management Accountant – Housing/Financial Services Reference no: ATR TCL 5247991 Pay Rate: £44,428 per annum Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, 8.30am to 5pm Role Length: Permanent City: Poole, Dorset Flexible working and remote at first but there will be a requirement to be in an office. The purpose of the role is to provide the best financial information and support for our development business and other internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Production of monthly management and assisting with annual statutory accounts. Preparation of budgets and forecasts. Preparation of financial reports and liaison with budget holders and other stakeholders external to finance to discuss and review. Maintaining a good level of technical accounting knowledge to ensure that accounts are prepared correctly and in line with the relevant accounting standards. Ensure all reporting deadlines are met without exception. Manage workload, delivery and development of assistant management accountants. Balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with best practice. Journal processing, including ensuring the correct accounting of accruals and prepayments. Review of assistant management accounts work to ensure accuracy. Interrogation of financial systems to identify errors and make corrections. Variance analysis. Qualifications: Educated to GCSE and A-Level Standard (or equivalent), including GCSE passes in English and Maths. CIMA/ACCA and/or significant demonstrable management accounts experience. Skills & Experience: Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation. Experience of producing monthly management accounts, annual budgets and period forecasts. Experience in working alongside budget holders and directors. Experience of managing and leading a team / individual. Experience using accountancy software. Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of accounting standards. Knowledge of the housing sector. Knowledge of service charges. Skills & Abilities: Able to prioritise and juggle fluctuating and demanding workloads. Ability to analyse, interpret and present information clearly and concisely. Able to meet targets and deadlines, sometimes under pressure. Strong communication skills and able to present written and verbal communication in a clear, concise manner.
