This welcoming school are looking for an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to manage their SEND provision and teach KS3–KS4 students across the week. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of learners with additional needs in a well-resourced, supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
As SENCO, you will take a strategic lead in SEND across the school, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and deliver an outstanding provision.
* Lead and manage the school’s SEND team in line with the SEND Code of Practice
* Oversee and improve student progress, achievement, and attainment
* Develop inclusive teaching strategies and ensure Quality First Teaching
* Support staff with personalised learning strategies for pupils with EHCPs
* Organise and lead Annual Reviews and maintain accurate documentation
* Liaise with the Local Authority, external agencies, and families
* Deliver training and CPD to teaching and support staff on SEND best practice
* Champion inclusion and create a culture where every pupil can thrive
Who We're Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is not only qualified, but genuinely driven to support young people with additional needs.
Essential:
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
* NASENCO qualification or willingness to complete it
* Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND in a mainstream or specialist setting
* In-depth knowledge of current SEND legislation, policy, and practice
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* A genuine commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners
* Full UK driving licence
