An industry leader in nuclear and advanced power manufacturing is seeking an inspiring and results-driven Factory Operations Manager to lead its Rugby facility. This site plays a key role in producing and servicing complex rotating equipment for both civil and defence applications.
You’ll take full responsibility for factory operations — driving performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost — while building a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll do
* Lead all daily factory operations, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and cost targets are achieved.
* Champion a strong safety-first culture, promoting proactive hazard identification and continuous improvement.
* Drive operational excellence using lean methodologies and data-driven decision-making.
* Manage and develop a diverse, high-performing team — fostering engagement, inclusion, and professional growth.
* Oversee budget and planning, ensuring optimal resource use and operational efficiency.
* Collaborate cross-functionally (EHS, Quality, Sourcing, Engineering) to achieve business objectives.
* Contribute to site and UK leadership teams, shaping local strategy and driving cultural transformation.
What we’re looking for
* Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.
* Demonstrated success in embedding Lean culture across diverse teams and driving measurable performance improvements (Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S and Visual Management, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement initiatives, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and A3 Problem Solving)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
* Track record of developing teams and embedding a culture of ownership and engagement.
* Experience in the power, energy, or industrial sector (preferred).
