Are you the calm in the classroom storm? The steady hand when things get tricky? We’re looking for a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive specialist school in Gateshead this September.

About the Role:
You’ll be working 1:1 or in small groups, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, communication challenges, and complex learning difficulties. Every day brings variety, joy, and the chance to be someone’s constant in a world that doesn’t always make sense.

What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting daily routines, structured learning and sensory activities
* Using communication tools (PECS, Makaton, AAC) to connect and engage
* Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families
* Creating a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment

* Experience working with SEND (in schools or care settings)
* A positive, resilient approach and excellent communication
* A warm heart, a cool head, and bags of patience
