About the Role
The Technical Team within Nottingham School of Art & Design is looking to expand its team of technical bank staff to provide support in various workshops and resources. This is a casual role with no fixed hours and supports the team during busy periods, evenings and/or weekends.
As a Senior Technician, you will work under the direction of the Technical Specialist for the area and/or your Technical Team Leader to provide support to students. Senior Technicians support undergraduate and postgraduate students during workshops and self-directed study, creating a positive and encouraging environment. This may involve delivering inductions and technical demonstrations as well as the day-to-day management of the workshop. You will work with students across various skill levels. The post holder will be responsible for the safe use of the workshop, equipment and machinery upkeep as necessary.
You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently within a team. You will be able to communicate ideas of a complex and technical nature to students, using a variety of methods and have detailed knowledge of the workshop and/or industry experience.
