Overview
Operator I: Entry Level Operator at myGwork - LGBTQ+ Business Community (Johnson Matthey). This fixed term 12 month contract located in Brimsdown. The role supports the operations team in executing operator activities and adhering to production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of quality product. The programme offers on- and off-the-job training to develop skills to operate intricate equipment, chemical and industrial processes. The job aims to develop into a skilled Operator.
Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for your own safety, comply with JM safe working practices and PPE, and contribute to a healthy and safe working environment.
* Follow process-related documentation such as risk analyses, process instructions and standard work documents.
* Complete batch sheets and handovers to ensure continuous production.
* Make suggestions for process improvements within area of responsibility.
* Adhere to 5S standards; cooperate with team members to drive the proactive operator programme, participate in failure investigations, identify and report reliability issues within the plant.
* Carry out basic preventative maintenance checks.
Key skills
* Understanding of EHS and its importance in the workplace.
* No prerequisite experience required; previous experience in chemical process industry, engineering and/or manufacturing is desirable.
* GCSEs in English, Maths & Science or equivalent.
* Understanding of large-scale complex manufacturing facilities/plants.
* Willingness to work 12-hour day and night shifts including weekends and bank holidays on a 4 on/4 off or 5 on/5 off pattern.
