Job Title: Gas Main Layer Location: Guernsey/ Jersey Island Employment Type: Permanent Salary: £45 000-£50 000 overtime Standby rates Relocation and accommodation support provided About the Role We’re seeking an experienced Gas Pipe Layer / Gas Operative to join our growing utilities team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in laying, maintaining, and connecting gas mains and services, working safely and efficiently on both domestic and commercial infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for: Installing, testing, and maintaining gas mains and service pipelines Working with PE pipework up to and above 180mm Ensuring all works comply with health, safety, and environmental standards Collaborating with team members and site supervisors to deliver projects on time Accurately recording work and maintaining high-quality standards Qualifications & Experience Essential: City & Guilds / C&G qualification (NCO2 Service Layer or Main Layer) Experience with gas mains and service installation Understanding of gas safety procedures and pipeline standards Strong awareness of site safety and compliance Desirable: Experience with mains up to or above 180mm Street Works (NRSWA) certification GNO1 What We Offer Competitive salary and overtime rates Opportunities for training and professional development Supportive, safety-driven work environment Long-term project stability
