Finance Officer – Part-Time – Charity Sector – South Leeds
Salary: £30,784 FTE / Actual £20,800
Hours: 25 hours per week (occasional evening or weekend work may be required)
Location: Office-based in Holbeck, South Leeds
We are working in partnership with Holbeck Together, a well-established community charity in South Leeds, to recruit a dedicated and experienced Finance Officer.
Holbeck Together acts as the Community Anchor and Neighbourhood Network Scheme for Holbeck, providing a wide range of services and social activities to support the local community. This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, busy and public-facing team where your financial skills will directly contribute to the positive impact the organisation has on people’s lives.
About the Role:
This Finance Officer role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, has strong attention to detail, and thrives in a supportive, community-focused environment. Reporting to the Chief Officer, you’ll manage day-to-day financial operations and play a key role in budget planning and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
3. Prepare monthly management accounts and assist with the annual budget
4. Manage payroll and pensions, ensuring compliance with procedures and auto enrolment
5. Maintain sales and purchase ledgers, including client invoicing, supplier payments, and debt management
6. Daily bank reconciliations and accurate maintenance of cash books
7. Support grant management and accurate grant budget reporting
8. Process month-end journals, reconcile key accounts including PAYE and pensions
9. Prepare for and support during annual audits
10. Liaise with clients and suppliers, and support the Chief Officer with performance analysis and reporting
What We’re Looking For:
11. At least 2 years’ experience in a similar finance role or AAT Level 3 qualified (or equivalent)
12. Proficient in Excel and Word; knowledge of Xero is desirable
13. Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail
14. Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
15. A collaborative team player who values the work of a community-based charity
