What you'll do:
As Deputy Data Protection Officer, you will be entrusted with significant responsibility for steering the organisation's global privacy strategy. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with senior executives to shape policy direction; leading the enhancement of risk management frameworks; guiding teams through complex regulatory landscapes; operationalising responsible AI initiatives; mentoring colleagues on best practices; overseeing critical assessments; and ensuring that privacy considerations are embedded at every stage of product development. * Lead the rollout and continuous improvement of the organisation's Privacy Risk Management Framework, ensuring consistency across global operations while adapting to local regulatory requirements.
* Drive the transition from compliance-focused approaches towards embedding privacy maturity and cultural awareness throughout the business, establishing benchmarks for best practice.
* Proactively identify emerging privacy risks in ambiguous situations, provide expert advice on mitigation strategies, and encourage cross-functional leaders to adopt pragmatic solutions that enable business growth.
* Conduct audits, assessments, and investigations into privacy matters with authority, delivering clear recommendations that balance regulatory compliance with organisational priorities.
* Mentor and guide stakeholders across various departments, upskilling teams to embed privacy-by-design principles into technology and product development processes.
* Operationalise Responsible AI governance programmes by aligning internal practices with emerging global standards such as ISO42001, ensuring effective oversight is integrated into daily operations.
* Champion the deployment of OneTrust's Responsible AI module by driving adoption across functions, establishing robust metrics, and providing transparent reporting to executive leadership.
* Oversee data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), third-party risk reviews, cross-border data transfer evaluations, data subject rights requests, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
* Collaborate closely with legal, security, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of privacy-by-design concepts into products and services offered by the organisation.

* Deep knowledge of GDPR requirements alongside familiarity with Indian DPDP Act, CCPA/CPRA regulations, AI governance frameworks, and data ethics standards.
* Comprehensive understanding of ISO27001/27701 standards as well as practical experience implementing privacy-by-design methodologies within cloud-based software delivery models.
* Outstanding communication skills with the ability to distil complex technical or abstract topics for audiences ranging from technical teams to executive leadership.
