Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership qualities and a commitment to food safety standards. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that our guests receive high-quality dishes that reflect our dedication to hospitality.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including supervising kitchen staff and coordinating food preparation activities.
* Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes served.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
* Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-maintained at all times.
Experience
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment is essential.
* Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques.
* Previous supervisory or team management experience is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen operations.
* Excellent leadership abilities with a passion for mentoring others in the culinary field.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
