Int. Network Engineer with Telecommunications industry experience to design, implement, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure. -

Location: Remote (Infrequent visits to Toronto or Mississauga Office)
Working Hours: 3.30pm – 11.00pm Eastern Time Zone
As an Intermediate Network Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure. You will ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of network systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business operations and technology initiatives.
Responsibilities:
•Network Design & Implementation: Assist in the planning and deployment of LAN/WAN architectures, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
•Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
•Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
•Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
•Collaboration: Work closely with system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and external vendors to support infrastructure projects and resolve complex issues.
•Upgrades & Maintenance: Perform firmware updates, hardware replacements, and capacity planning to ensure network scalability and reliability.
•Support: Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated network-related incidents and service requests.
Must haves:
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
•3–5 years of experience in network engineering or administration.
•Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
•Experience with enterprise-grade networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).
•Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).
•Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
•Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
•Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
•Experience with cloud networking (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
•Knowledge of SD-WAN, VoIP, and network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).
