Job description
Our client, a respected entity in the defence sector, is seeking a dedicated Database Administrator to join their team on a contract basis. This role is based in Preston, with a hybrid working arrangement that includes 1-2 days in the office over a 12-month contract term.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Delivering our 'Recruitment Hub' activities which include a dedicated service to managers who are looking to recruit into their teams. You will support them through creating the relevant vacancy details within our technology systems and pro-actively managing business approvals to ensure everything is in place ready to recruit into a vacant role.
2. Supporting project work and organisational changes that require data change within our technology platforms
3. Managing data changes and maintaining the integrity of data. Working with relevant stakeholders to address data errors, correcting data and seeking to understand and address any issues contributing to incorrect data.
4. Raising persistent data errors to the team leader or Data Quality Team, to ensure that they can be addressed and corrective actions determined.
5. Working closely with other teams and stakeholders who have a dependency on data input and changes within our technology platforms to ensure that we are able to continuously improve the quality of our data processes.
6. Ensuring robust governance and control is adhered to in respect of all data received and sent, and there are always the appropriate levels of validation / peer review
7. Actively identify data anomalies and take the appropriate action to resolve
Job Requirements:
8. Experience of working with data
9. Intermediate IT skills, in particular MS Excel
10. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths, English and Science
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a tea
12. Flexible approach to business needs
13. High level of analytical and organisational skills
14. Maintains high standards of quality with an eye for detail and an attitude of getting things right first time
