Building Construction Products division (BCP) is hiring a Senior Manager Category Procurement - Hydraulics. This role manages the global BCP category strategy for Hydraulics across the BCP business.
Job Summary: This candidate leads collaboration with Hydraulics Systems and Components Engineering and suppliers to deliver quality, cost, and performance requirements for hydraulic components across BCP products. This role involves developing and optimizing a resilient, world-class supply base in collaboration with suppliers, sites, and product groups.
What You Will Do:
* People: Manage a high-performing global team of supplier development engineers and purchasing professionals responsible for the supply base to meet BCP's QCLDM requirements. Direct reports include Supplier Development Engineers, Buyers, Advanced Purchasing Analysts, and Purchasing Analysts.
* Leadership: Develop, mentor, and train personnel to deliver the Hydraulics strategy. Lead supplier performance management, uphold ethical standards, demonstrate business acumen, and build strong relationships with key suppliers. Represent BCP on the Hydraulics Category Council.
* Strategy: Use Strategic Sourcing to evaluate options and align the Hydraulics sourcing strategy with BCP's global needs. Assess current supply base capabilities and identify potential suppliers.
* Customers: Manage suppliers serving multiple Caterpillar facilities, including the service network. Communicate effectively with business partners to ensure requirements are met.
* Supplier Development: Use QCLDM tools to drive ongoing improvement plans with suppliers, building trust and fostering continuous improvement. Strong knowledge of macroeconomics and component costing is required for cost modeling.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field or extensive related experience.
* Experience leading diverse, global teams, with cultural awareness and effective communication skills.
* Proven expertise in global procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management.
* Knowledge of quality management principles in procurement.
* Experience managing strategic supplier relationships and stakeholder collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong negotiation skills and understanding of geopolitical influences on supply chains.
* MBA or master’s degree.
* Knowledge of Quality and Cost Modeling tools, lean principles, and professional certifications such as C.P.M., CPIM, or CIRM.
* Membership in professional organizations like ISM or APICS.
* Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or similar experience.

* Salary: £80,000 - £95,000 depending on experience
