It is an exciting time to join the Neuro in-patient rehabilitation team at Langley House – Holywell Rehab unit as we expand our therapy team and we are seeking an enthusiastic Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join us. We are an enthusiastic team who will support and help you develop your clinical, managerial, personal and professional skills.
Our rehabilitation services are fully integrated between the community and acute. We specialise in neuro rehab including stroke for patients 18years and above. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual, who is passionate about helping patients to improve their quality of life and helping staff to develop in their roles and are keen to learn and develop within neuro rehab

There are fantastic public transport links to the Langley House site. Car parking is limited but free with electric charging points available.
Being a car driver is an essential requirement of this post.
Also, as part of this post you will be expected to work 1 weekend in 6 weeks

Person specification
Education/Qualifications
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
* Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
* Member of RCOT/special interest group
Experience
* Application of the OT Process in a clinical setting.
* Experience of working as part of an MDT
* Use of functional assessment and activity analysis.
* Relevant work experience in a variety of clinical placements.
* Experience of delegation to support staff
Skills & Knowledge
* Knowledge of current best practice in OT
* Ability to analyse, assess and implement treatment plans for stroke and neurology patients with rehabilitation needs
* Ability to carry out cognitive assessments to inform your treatment plan
* Awareness of how to adapt treatment approach to enhance the rehabilitation experience for those with cognitive impairments
* Awareness of how to create a safe discharge plan, utilising external agencies to support the clients ongoing rehabilitation and care needs in the community
* Awareness of prescription of simple aids and equipment to support with enhancing independent functioning
* Ability to work single-handedly with individuals and groups
* Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice
* Basic knowledge of health legislation and current practice, risk assessment and management
* Effective written and oral communication skills
* IT Skills including Word processing and internet skills
* Basic knowledge of the principals of clinical governance
* Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
* Health, safety and risk awareness
* Ability to manage time/caseload effectively
* Commitment to client-centred, non-discriminatory practice

* Demonstrate Clinical knowledge and experience of different neurological conditions
