We are Hiring: Lead Cloud Platform Engineer Location: Remote Hours: Monday to Friday 09 00 to 17 30 About the role We are looking for a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to play a key role in shaping and delivering our Azure cloud platform within a regulated financial services environment. This is a hands on role combining technical delivery platform design and mentoring. You will lead from the front building and improving cloud services while influencing engineering standards and best practice across the business. You will work closely with engineering architecture DevOps security and compliance teams to ensure solutions are secure scalable resilient and aligned to regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing
Cloud Engineering and Delivery
1. Lead the design build and continuous improvement of Azure cloud platform services
2. Deliver hands on engineering across platform services networking identity monitoring and security
3. Define and implement reusable cloud patterns and standards
4. Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues
Architecture and Technical Direction
5. Contribute to cloud architecture and design decisions
6. Ensure solutions are secure scalable and resilient
7. Translate architecture into practical supportable engineering delivery
8. Support production of technical design documentation
Infrastructure as Code and Automation
9. Lead development of Terraform based infrastructure as code
10. Build reusable modules and deployment standards
11. Drive automation to improve consistency efficiency and auditability
12. Support engineers in adopting infrastructure as code best practices
DevOps and Delivery Enablement
13. Build and enhance Azure DevOps pipelines
14. Improve automation testing and release processes
15. Drive best practice in continuous delivery and deployment
16. Support teams to deliver safely and consistently
Security Governance and Compliance
17. Ensure cloud platforms are secure by design and audit ready
18. Implement governance controls across identity access and monitoring
19. Work closely with security risk and compliance teams
20. Embed best practice across regulated environments
Networking and Integration
21. Lead Azure networking design including virtual networks firewalls private endpoints and connectivity
22. Support integration across internal third party and cloud services
23. Ensure secure scalable and supportable solutions
