What is the role?
Thinking about life after school or a change in career? This Apprenticeship Programme offers you the chance to earn whilst you learn new skills. You will be provided with the opportunity to achieve a formal City & Guilds Electrical Power Engineering qualification, whilst gaining valuable work experience. This is a three-year programme combining academic study (20%) with work-based experience (80%). You will repair equipment of the electricity network, replace equipment as part of a maintenance programme, replacement of broken or worn parts, adjustment, servicing and checking components. You will be supported throughout your programme by mentors, Learning and Talent support staff and business operational colleagues. You will have on-the-job training and be supported by our academic training partners. Apprentices attend college on a block release basis and can be away from home for short periods of time. You will be supported fully during this time. By the end of your apprenticeship, you will have formal qualifications and accreditations that will offer the opportunity to build a rewarding career in the energy sector. Sustainability underpins everything we do, and we believe in developing our people to reach their full potential within SSE.
