Payroll Manager - About The Role
In this role, you will be solely responsible for managing the payroll function and will report to the Head of Finance. You will work with the outsourced payroll provider, with the potential to bring the payroll function in-house. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing the outsourced contract for payroll and pensions, ensuring all processes comply with finance policies.
2. Creating and maintaining payroll procedures and guidance for the organisation.
3. Ensuring full accuracy in pay calculations related to starters, leavers, and contract changes.
4. Liaising with the payroll provider to ensure compliance with statutory PAYE requirements.
5. Providing timely and accurate payroll journal data to finance teams monthly.
6. Developing and overseeing a payroll service desk for staff queries.
7. Supporting the Head of Finance & HR with contract management and future tenders.
8. Creating payroll policies and procedures from scratch.
9. Leading efforts to explore new schemes and benefits for staff.
The Successful Payroll Manager Will Have:
* Previous experience in a similar role
* CIPP qualification or equivalent experience
* Extensive payroll background with experience in building out a payroll function
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
