CNC Setter/Operator (3 & 5 Axis) Starting Salary (Training Period): £13.50 per hour Full Rate: Up to £16.15 per hour once trained and signed off Hours: 40–44 per week Shifts: Alternating weekly shifts – one week of earlies (approx. 07:00–16:30), followed by one week of lates (approx. 11:00/11:30–20:00/20:30) Key Responsibilities for this CNC Machinist Role: Set and operate 3‑axis and 5‑axis CNC machines (no programming required) Complete tooling changes, fixturing, and offset adjustments to maintain efficient production Produce components to drawing specifications using accurate in‑process inspection Use additional shop‑floor equipment such as band saws and manual/conventional machines (training provided if needed) Maintain safe working practices at all times in the machine shop Support departmental productivity by maintaining strong throughput and minimising downtime Work closely with offline programmers and senior machinists to resolve machining issues Keep work areas clean and follow all quality, safety, and housekeeping standardsRequirements for this CNC Machinist Role: Around 5 years of CNC machining experience (3‑axis and 5‑axis ideal) Ability to confidently set and operate CNC machines — programming not required Background can be in wood, plastic, metal, composite, or similar machining Strong understanding of engineering drawing...
