The role is a Lead Clinician (OT / SaLT) based at Brick Lane School, London E2 6DY, with a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 DOE plus £3,000 Welcome Bonus. Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm. Contract: Permanent – 52 Weeks.
This is a multidisciplinary clinical team role within a school setting, designed to deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for pupils who may present with complex profiles of need due to autism and other neurodivergent conditions, developmental trauma and SEMH needs. The postholder will work with the school SLT and Regional Clinical Lead, splitting time between clinical leadership and therapy caseloads. The role focuses on EHCP target-led work and service development of the clinical school-based service, alongside safeguarding and pupil-centred approaches.

The role
We are looking for a Lead Clinician (OT / SaLT) to manage our in-house Clinical Team at Brick Lane School. The postholder will work collaboratively with the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Regional Clinical Lead. The role will be split between clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload. Working with the team, the postholder will deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for pupils who may present with complex needs related to autism and other neurodivergent conditions, developmental trauma and SEMH needs. Meeting EHCP needs will be a primary focus, targeted via outcomes-led clinical methods embedded in our practice. They will also coordinate line management of onsite clinical team members and lead service development of the school-based clinical service in collaboration with the school SLT and Regional Clinical Lead. Our Clinical Teams maintain a person-centred, safeguarding-focused approach with pupils involved in decisions that affect them.
Location: Brick Lane School – London E2 6DY – Brick Lane School forms part of our Options Autism brand, an independent specialist day school for children and young people aged 5 - 18.
Responsibilities
* Lead the in-house Clinical Team (OT / SaLT) and work with SLT and Regional Clinical Lead.
* Deliver bespoke assessments and intervention plans for pupils with complex needs.
* Coordinate line management and contribute to service development of the clinical school-based service.
* Maintain safeguarding culture and ensure pupil involvement in decisions affecting them.
Essential Criteria
* BSc or MSc in Speech & Language Therapy or Occupational Therapy with HCPC registration and RCSLT (or BPS membership as applicable)
* Valid and up-to-date professional registration
* Experience with autistic individuals and/or those with complex needs
* Clear and concise report writing related to clinical and research activities
* Experience providing supervision and supporting a therapy team
* Ability to work independently and adapt to a growing clinical service
* Experience of multi-professional work within the designated specialty
