This is an exciting opportunity for you to be responsible for the expansion and management of our portfolio in East Sussex and Kent. You will be involved in the full asset lifecycle from initial site identification, negotiation, and land/site acquisition. You will lead a professional team through the planning process to obtain satisfactory consents, support the construction phase, and ongoing asset management. Developing relationships with key third parties such as landlords, tenants, local authorities, agents, and developers is also essential.
You will own the full development and planning processes from concept to completion, requiring excellent communication and negotiation skills, the ability to multi-task, and meet tight deadlines. Internally, this role is called Senior Acquisitions Consultant.
What you'll do:
* Identify, negotiate, and acquire freehold and leasehold deals to build new stores.
* Conduct site inspections, development appraisals, and manage site, legal, and planning due diligence.
* Manage the planning application lifecycle from submission to consent and conditions discharge.
* Lead expansion, relocation, and infrastructure improvement projects.
* Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, agents, landlords, tenants, and developers.
* Drive the full development and planning process from concept to completion.
* Manage real estate assets of freehold and leasehold properties.
What you'll need:
* A self-starting attitude with a drive to succeed.
* Degree-level education (minimum 2:2), ideally in a relevant discipline.
* Experience in retail acquisitions, land buying, commercial property, or town planning.
* MRICS qualification is preferred.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* A full driving license and willingness to travel across the UK.
