Role Overview
The Systems Engineer will be responsible to the Programme Chief Engineers. The specific role scope will be subject to the assigned programme but will include a range of systems engineering activities: Classical requirements management and development, Verification Planning, MBSE, Trade Studies and Research Projects. A key requirement is the ability to obtain and maintain a high level security clearance. If you do not currently hold the required clearance, we can support you through the application process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate work-packages, potentially across multiple programmes.
- Lay out with Senior Stakeholders both within the company and customers.
- Ensure compliance with UK National Security Vetting criteria (minimum SC Clearance required; DV acceptable).
- Maintain the engineering development lifecycle.
- Conduct requirements derivation, trade study definition and delivery, definition and monitoring of Technical KPIs, system architecture and subsystem derivation.
- Produce sequence/activity/use case diagrams, interface definitions (ICDs and IDLs), data distribution systems and data links.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant higher level qualifications (Bachelors/Master’s in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic, Engineering).
- Higher level academic or industrial experience in Systems Engineering.
- Experience or understanding of MBSE as applied to various programme lifecycle stages.
- Ability to multi-task and manage complex projects.
- Strong communication skills.
- Legal right to work in the UK without restrictions.
Desirable Additional Skills
- Experience in a classified setting.
- Experience in Architecture Frameworks (e.g., UAF/NAF).
- Experience in SysML/UML using CAMEO, Rhapsody.
- Experience with IBM Jazz (DOORS-NG, Test-Manager/Quality-Manager).
- Experience in Matlab & Simulink.
- Knowledge of AI/ML tools and techniques.
- Experience with Software teams and development processes (Agile, Sprints, Kanban).
- Familiarity with collaborative tools (SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence).
- Experience in M&S studies such as Computational Fluid Dynamics, trajectory modelling, Finite Element Analysis or application of complex algorithms to engineering challenges.
