Court of Protection Paralegal

They are currently seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their Court of Protection team, based at their Horncastle office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, professional environment where your career and development will be valued and encouraged.
The Role This is a fee-earning role within the Court of Protection team, offering a mix of legal casework and client interaction. You’ll assist with a variety of Court of Protection matters including deputyship applications, routine correspondence, client visits, and general management of client affairs.
You’ll need to be a proactive, organised, and compassionate professional who is comfortable working independently, liaising with vulnerable clients, care homes, family members, and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities
1. File opening, administration, and dealing with initial enquiries
2. Preparing and submitting deputyship applications
3. Routine correspondence with clients, families, and third parties
4. Visiting clients and liaising with Deputies, Attorneys, or Representatives
5. Managing client affairs, including financial record-keeping
6. Liaising with care homes and maintaining accurate registers and schedules
7. Assisting with Annual Reports and Court of Protection compliance
8. Supporting marketing efforts and promoting the firm’s services
Person Specification Essential:
9. Previous experience working in a legal setting (ideally Private Client or Court of Protection)
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
11. Highly organised with strong attention to detail
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
13. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (with business insurance cover)
Desirable:
14. Law degree or relevant legal qualification
15. Specific Court of Protection experience
16. Experience using SOS Connect or similar case management systems
17. A caring, compassionate, and professional approach to vulnerable clients
