Orthodontic Dental Adviser
This is a Permanent position. Placement and salary will be determined by qualifications and experience, based on the Specialty Doctor Salary Scale.
The Post
We are recruiting to fill the post of Orthodontic Dental Adviser. The appointment is suitable for applicants with significant recent experience in orthodontic practice in NHS General Dental Services in Scotland.
The Candidate
Responsibilities:
* Answer questions posed by practitioners.
* Consider treatment plans submitted for Prior Approval.
* Undertake post‑treatment verification to support practitioners and ensure patients receive an appropriate standard of care.
Qualifications and Attributes:
* Broad knowledge of orthodontics in dental practice.
* Commitment to continuing professional development.
* Ability to assess treatment provision objectively and non‑judgmentally.
* Effective communication skills.
* Current GDC registration at the time of applying.
Applicants must undergo a PVG Scheme check. Any candidate who has lived or worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years must provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Location and Working Pattern
The successful candidate will be based at Gyle Square in Edinburgh, currently hybrid working. The post is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Part‑time applicants may be considered. It is a condition of employment that the employee lives and remains a resident within the UK for the post.
