Overview
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Assistant Principal for Behaviour and Attitudes to join a senior leadership team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract starting January 2026. This pivotal role focuses on fostering a positive, respectful and inclusive school culture where all students can achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the school’s behaviour and attitudes strategy in line with national and trust-wide policies.
* Oversee behaviour management systems, ensuring a consistent and restorative approach across the school.
* Support staff in implementing behaviour policies and delivering high expectations for conduct and attendance.
* Monitor behaviour data, attendance figures and exclusions, using analysis to drive improvement.
* Work closely with students, parents, governors and external agencies to promote wellbeing and engagement.
* Contribute to whole-school leadership and the strategic development of the academy.
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and substantial experience in a senior or middle leadership role.
* Proven record of successfully improving behaviour and attendance outcomes.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students as Assistant Principle.
* A thorough understanding of safeguarding and inclusion.
