Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, London
We have an exciting opportunity for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to join our team in London, working 37.5 hours a week. This is a hybrid role, working both from home and our London office, with travel to meet clients.
Location: Islington, 3rd Floor, 5-7 Singer Street, London, EC2A 4AP
Salary: Qualified: £30,850 per annum (including £2,800 London Weighting Allowance); Unqualified: £28,810 per annum (including £2,800 London Weighting Allowance)
Contract: Permanent
Requirements: EU work permit, DBS check, and police vetting (not required).
Responsibilities:
1. Implement effective ways of working with victims and support networks to increase safety and reduce harm.
2. Provide high-quality, front-line services to victims of domestic abuse, prioritizing according to risk, focusing on victims aged 16+.
3. Work within multi-agency frameworks, including MARAC and local partnerships, to keep safety central to services.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of domestic abuse victims.
* Understanding of domestic abuse impacts and legal responsibilities.
* Skills in risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
* Strong crisis management skills and ability to handle stressful situations.
