Job Role: Senior GMP Scientist/Principal Scientist Contract: Full time/Permanent Site: Sandwich Salary range: Competitive/DOE Concept Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Chemist with strong GMP or regulated‑environment experience to join our team in Sandwich. This role suits a hands‑on chemist ready for increased responsibility and technical influence. What you’ll do Lead the synthesis of complex molecules within GMP or other regulated settings. Develop, optimise, and troubleshoot robust synthetic routes aligned with regulatory expectations. Generate accurate, compliant documentation, including batch records and deviation reports. Support audits, quality activities, and continuous improvement of GMP processes. Work closely with colleagues across Chemistry, QC and QA Provide informal technical mentorship to junior team members. About you Are an experienced synthetic chemist with practical expertise in organic synthesis and familiarity with GMP or other regulated workflows. Ideally have experience in regulatory chemistry (e.g., API manufacture, controlled documentation, audit processes, or regulatory submissions support). Strong attention to detail, documentation, and scientific integrity. Effective communicator, comfortable reporting and presenting to a range of stakeholders. PhD in Chemistry, or BSc/Masters with substantial industrial synthesis experience. Ready for greater responsibility and able to contribute to scientific direction.
