Location: Home based/on the road covering Northampton to Newcastle/Carlisle
Overview: Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful Regional Sales Manager, will contribute towards the annual sales target by maintaining and developing new profitable business from existing and potential customers, continuing a high level of technical support and customer satisfaction. Travel and visit new and existing customers in the North to market and promote the full range of Products and help to design technical solutions for their specific applications.
Duties:
Source new business and prospects.
Plan customer visits and develop key accounts, maintaining regular liaison with contacts regarding long term projects.
Respond to customer requirements for quotations, technical proposals and support, training, visits, and presentations.
Visit customers to introduce products and services or to assist with fault finding on an application or system, if necessary and liaise with technical or design staff to decide on action required.
Prepare visit reports and keep Sales Manager & Managing Director informed of relevant sales activities and progress.
Liaise with accounts department to assess new customers for suitability of credit worthiness and ensure completed trade reference and credit terms and conditions are agreed.
Process and respond to customer complaints and keep the Sales Manager informed.
Register quotations and returns on the relevant database and progress through to completion.
Maintain a high level of technical ability through working on new projects and reading technical literature.
Provide technical support to internal staff.
Arrange and host customer visits to the company premises.
Key Skills/Experience Required:
Previous experience within a similar role
Proficient in electronics and hydraulics and capable of on-site commissioning
Excellent customer service and relationship building
Good driving ability and geographical knowledge of working area
Effective presentation and training skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Technical and creative problem solving
Negotiation and closing techniques
Adaptable and flexible and capable of managing changing priorities and tasks
Computer literacy, capable of using Internet, email, and Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Office Software essential including Outlook
SAGE 200 system
Knowledge of Load sensing system closed and open loop
Industry knowledge: Industrial, Marine, Offshore/Sub Sea, Gas, Hydraulic, Agricultural, Construction
Quality Procedures ISO9001:2008
Relevant Sales qualification desirable
Relevant Fluid Power qualification
