An honours degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering would be the most suitable.Our ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of rotating machinery, such as pumps, compressors, and mechanical seals and their support systems, and of fluid-handling equipment, such as piping, valves, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and measuring instruments.Experience of working in the engineering sector is required. A new graduate without this experience would be considered for the position of Junior Sales Engineer.You will need to be commercially aware, with knowledge of sales and marketing techniques.You will need to have exceptional communication and organisational skills and be confident in the use of Microsoft applications, especially Excel and Project.We are looking for a team player who is self-motivated and has a ‘can-do’ attitude.THE ROLEThe Sales Engineer will provide timely, accurate quotations for compressor packages through interpretation of application requirements, dealing with technical and commercial queries whilst providing a high-quality service to global customers.The main duties of the role are:Reading customers’ enquiries, including data sheets, project specifications, P&IDs, and terms and conditionsSelecting appropriate materials of construction, flow control, sealing systems, lube oil systems, cooling, acoustic attenuation and instrumentation for new compressors and compressor packages.
