Closing date: 18th March 2026 At MSV Housing were committed to making sure our customers have good quality safe homes and our Young Person Independent Living Officers are key to making this happen. We are looking to recruit an experienced individual with fantastic skills to join our established team. Reporting to our Foyer Manager, our Young Person Independent Living Officer Multi Site supports the Registered Service Manager in ensuring the service meets the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 while delivering safeguarding-focused, person-centred support to vulnerable children and young people. It builds strong relationships with key partners, promotes independence through coaching and activities, and empowers young people to thrive and achieve positive outcomes across all Every Child Matters principles. The role will carry a limited caseload and provide holiday cover to ensure flexibility and support across the service. MSV operates two Young Person Service sites in Manchester City Centre and one in Blackburn; travel to Blackburn will be occasional and generally arranged in planned slots to cover staff leave. In addition, we are looking for candidates that have a passion to advocate on behalf of people and communities. What do our Young Person Independent Living Officer Multi Site do; Provide safeguarding-focused, person-centred support to children and young people, including assessments, crisis interventions, risk management, and collaborative work with external agencies. Manage a caseload using a strengths-based approach, creating and monitoring support plans, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and Ofsted/Local Authority requirements. Support young people to sustain their licence, maximise income, engage in education, training or employment, and progress towards independence and suitable long-term accommodation. Build strong partnerships with internal teams, local authorities, health services, and community organisations while promoting resident involvement through groups, activities, and youth leadership opportunities. Ensure a safe, welcoming environment by undertaking health and safety duties, contributing to service improvements, supporting volunteers/students, working flexibly on a rota, and representing MSV professionally across forums and networks. What we are looking for; Good standard of education with minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above including Maths and English Experience of advocacy on behalf of customers Experience of working with customers with Mental Health and Vulnerabilities Good understanding of mental health and vulnerable customer needs of a knowledge of trauma informed practice Customer focused and a desire to provide services to a high standard.
