Overview
This Security Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational requirements of their site and providing subject matter expertise, support, and guidance to the customer sites within their remit. This role will build strong relationships with the security team, workplace teams, and one-team service leads, and will lead, inspire, and motivate teams to service excellence and continuous improvement of operations.

* Location: Birmingham
* Salary: £49,321.89 per annum
* Hours: 45 hours per week
* Shifts: Monday to Friday (as per needs of the business)
Requirements
* SIA Licence required
* Proven management experience of at least 3 years in a large multi-skilled team of not less than 20 personnel
* Ability to organise and motivate a team of Team Leaders and DSOMs to guarantee optimum performance
* Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* Gravitas and resilience to work through complex requirements
* Leadership and ability to follow plans through to completion
* Time management and organisational skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
* Experience of working in a demanding, high-pressure environment
* Reliable, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work on own initiative
* Smart appearance befitting the company
* Flexibility and reliability to work days/nights and weekends to suit contract needs
Job responsibilities
* Lead the SOM for each hub and own assigned area of responsibility (performance & customer service, Quality & Assurance, People & Training, or Systems & Data)
* Liaise with site staff, visitors, customers, and management to maintain effective customer service relationships
* Maintain clear communication of operational developments to customers
* Carry out tasks and report back as directed by the customer or CIS Management
* Manage On Site Security Operations in line with Site Policies and Procedures
* Keep customers updated on security issues
* Assist in security investigations into losses, damages, or other incidents
* Conduct fact finding and disciplinary meetings, assist with investigations, and take meeting minutes
* Deploy security personnel to ensure satisfactory on-site presence as required
* Ensure staff adhere to duties and site policies, reporting breaches immediately
* Promote diversity and inclusion and foster belonging and empowerment
* Build trusting customer relationships and support one-team approach
* Coordinate daily with the Security Operations Manager for effective communication and service delivery
* Be the go-to contact for daily operational security and health and safety matters
* Establish and maintain links with local police, CTSA, CPA, and other security professionals
* Ensure compliance with SLAs
* Monitor staff discipline, standards, and conduct; manage leave, sickness, and attendance
* Undertake incident management responsibilities, including out-of-hours contact
* Assist with staffing, interviewing, vetting, and onboarding of new team members
* Ensure appropriate staffing levels and shift patterns with trained personnel
* Maintain safe working conditions and address accidents or faults promptly
* Continuously seek improvements to increase efficiency and quality of service
* Maintain discipline on shift, including uniform and punctuality
* Ensure handovers are completed at shift changes with vital details
* Maintain high standards of customer care when dealing with staff and visitors
* Maintain confidentiality and uphold a good reputation with all stakeholders
* Respond professionally and promptly to communications
* Identify training needs and document training records
* Proactively expand services offered to customers
* Maintain high personal and professional standards and a total quality approach
* Attend required meetings with customers and line management to ensure consistent service delivery
* Submit timesheets, holiday, and sickness forms within required timescales
* Coordinate with teams to adapt to changing contract requirements
* Carry out reasonable requests from CIS management
