Our client is a renowned defendant firm with offices across the UK. They are currently recruiting for an EL/PL Lawyer to join on a hybrid basis.
Your new role
This Defendant EL/PL Lawyer role will see you handle a varied caseload of employer liability and public liability claims valued up to £100K. Cases are generally handled on a non‑delegated authority basis.
Key Responsibilities:

* Assess primary and secondary liability in EL/PL claims.
\t
* Work in accordance with client SLAs, producing initial reviews and setting case strategy.
\t
* Review evidence including witness statements, medical and occupational health records, and inspection reports.
\t
* Conduct disclosure, investigations, CMCs and applications.
\t
* Instruct counsel, investigators and medical experts; prepare questions for medical experts.
\t
* Prepare costs schedules, counter schedules, pre‑trial reports and trial bundles.
\t
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practice throughout.
What you'll need to succeed
\t
* Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive
\t
* Proven experience managing a caseload of defendant EL/PL files with previous litigation experience.
\t
* Strong advocacy, communication and client‑care skills; able to operate to client guidelines.
\t
* Ability to prioritise, work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain high analytical accuracy.
\t
* Decision‑making capability, resilience, and strong IT proficiency.
