Mechanical Technician To undertake work activities in accordance with their training, best practice, applicable trade and Company standards.
Participate in the planning and preparation of work activities.
- Carry out Point of Work Risk Assessments and Behavioural Safety Observations.
- Undertake work so that it complies with the technical and quality requirements of the Safe System of Work.
- Immediately report any unplanned events, defects, damage, safety hazards or other problems to their Line Manager.
- Apply good practice principles such as the Human Performance Error Reduction tools STAR, Peer Check, Questioning Attitude etc.
- This role will require the candidate to work within a radiological controlled area and will include the requirement to wear specialised PPE ( provided by CNL) and in addition at times there will be a requirement to wear RPE and as such must be clean shaven and undertake a face fit test The candidate will be involved in the installation of plant and equipment, a good knowledge of mechanical installation and minor civils works ( Drilling and fixing into concrete) will be required Hours of Work are 44 hrs per week, Monday to Thursday ( Friday /Sat /Sun working may be required on an ad hoc voluntary basis) Experience and Qualifications Academic Requirements NVQ Level 3 / SVQ Level 3, recognised apprenticeship training. or relevant proven experience Specific Requirements (all) CCNSG Safety Passport or CSCS labour card Experience Demonstrable experience covering a wide range of engineering topics including Plant installation and general mechanical construction.
